The Founder's experience

Marco Squadrone (MD in Naval and Mechanical Engineering, Genoa's University, 1986) is a freshly retired After-Sales Service Commercial Vice-President of the Italian largest manufacturer of power generation's heavy rotating equipment, Ansaldo Energia SpA, an international group headquartered in Genoa, Italy.

From 1999 to 2022 he has assumed different roles in the Ansaldo Energia Service Department, as Operation Director, Commercial Area Manager and Service Commercial Director. In the commercial role he has found, developed, bid or negotiated new opportunities with old and new customers worldwide, personally leading in the years his teams to the acquisition of well over 4 B€ of service orders, spanning from large Long Term Service Agreement on whole power plants to Rehabilitations, Overhauls or Spare Parts Frame Agreements.

Prior to the 20-years long and successful commercial experience in Ansaldo Energia he has been an Italian Navy career officer and ship's Chief Engineer until 1993, when, leaving the Navy, became a Service Field Engineers Manager in the Italian Turin - based FiatAvio Power Division (heavy duty gas turbines manufacturer under Westinghouse license, later it became Turbocare and finally acquired by Ethos Energy Group) until early 1997.

Due to FiatAvio P.D. company’s crisis and looking for chances to grow further, leaving Turin he took the position of “Field Engineering Sales & Management Worldwide” Manager in the Service Dept. of General Electric - Nuovo Pignone company in Florence, Italy ( later acquired by Baker Hughes, then manufacturer of all kind of equipment in the oil & gas sector and Heavy Duty / aeroderivative gas turbines for power generation) leaving for a new career’s opportunity in Ansaldo Energia in November 1999.
